The People You Will Always Remember, On the Day You Will Never Forget

Your wedding day is undoubtedly one of the most special days you will experience in this lifetime. It is a day you hope to share with some of the most important people in your life. But, unfortunately, some of our most loved family and friends are unable to be with us on the big day. Many couples will incorporate a piece of clothing from their loved ones into their gown or suit to symbolize their presence on the wedding day. Whether you wish to use a piece of your grandmother’s dress as your own or sew your father’s favorite handkerchief onto your gown, these seemingly small gestures have a much bigger sentimental meaning behind them. Here are some creative and thoughtful ways to incorporate your loved ones into your special day.

Rain or Shine... Wedding Umbrellas and Parasols are 'IN'!

One of our favorite 2013 trends is using umbrellas and parasols as props at your event.  Whether hanging from a tent, propped up over a food or sweet station as decor, or within your formal photos, they can add color and give your wedding just the right amount of whimsy.  Here are some examples or umbrellas at their best - find and rent some amazing styles at www.bellaumbrella.com.

Wedding Websites

It may be slightly non-traditional but wedding websites are here to stay! What better way to reach out to all your guests with information about your wedding...especially out of town guests that aren't getting the day-to-day updates. Generally, people don’t bring the wedding invitation with them on your big day so what happens when they forget the address or the time? A personalized website is the exact thing that can make any guests mishaps obsolete. With phones today, your guests can double check your website while they’re on the way to your ceremony! A wedding website will allow you to post dates, directions, RSVP, registries and more. You can upload unlimited photos and make changes around the clock. This feature will add a little extra detail to your wedding that guests will appreciate and love! With over 400 themes to choose from, check out just a few of our favorite designs below which can all be personalized to your own style and taste...Change it as often as you wish!

Nantucket Lightship, Newport, RI

This morning, I received an amazing tour of the Nantucket Lightship (thanks to the Rhode Island Wedding Group) and I had to immediately post my thoughts... what a hidden jewel!! Anyone who is looking to rent out a unique, extraordinary, historic venue, you must check this out. They service weddings, holiday parties, cocktail receptions, and can even charter small groups or a single couple for a romantic getaway. You'll be very impressed once you get past the exterior and once aboard, you won't want to leave!

For more information, email info@nantucketlightship.com or visit the website where you can also take a video tour: http://www.nantucketlightship.com/

For a great article on the ship and it's restoration visit: http://www.mvtimes.com/marthas-vineyard/news/2009/08/20/nantucket.php

Sign Here...

By Leanne D.

Want a Guest Book everyone is sure to talk about? Many brides do but with all the other wedding details, it's often overlooked. Instead of sending your maid of honor out to grab one at Michaels 24 hours before the wedding, do something special that will truly welcome your guests. Here are a few great ideas to personalize your guest book. They may take a little more time to put together but they all have a lasting impression!

* A new twist on a classic quilt project - what home-ec class has never put a quilt together of favorite t-shirts or old pictures? Now you can take your guests well wishes to the couch.

*Print out mad lib cards where your guests can create funny stories to share on your special day. These are great in a scrap book and you can enjoy for years to come!

*“Leaf” a thumb print. Guests can use their thumb print to create leaves on your wedding tree and sign their name next to it. It instantly becomes a work of art!

*A guest book that keeps giving- or reminding! Never forget a birthday again, have your guests sign their special day on the calendar for you special day!
