Wedding Websites

It may be slightly non-traditional but wedding websites are here to stay! What better way to reach out to all your guests with information about your wedding...especially out of town guests that aren't getting the day-to-day updates. Generally, people don’t bring the wedding invitation with them on your big day so what happens when they forget the address or the time? A personalized website is the exact thing that can make any guests mishaps obsolete. With phones today, your guests can double check your website while they’re on the way to your ceremony! A wedding website will allow you to post dates, directions, RSVP, registries and more. You can upload unlimited photos and make changes around the clock. This feature will add a little extra detail to your wedding that guests will appreciate and love! With over 400 themes to choose from, check out just a few of our favorite designs below which can all be personalized to your own style and taste...Change it as often as you wish!

To TIP.... or NOT to Tip??

As your wedding day approaches, you will begin to wonder which wedding vendors you should tip and how much. To make life easier for all of you, I've created a cheat sheet to help - it includes who, when, and how much is typically expected. Keep in mind that there are always exceptions to what is traditional; this chart is simply to be used as a guideline.

Lastly, when giving out your tips, it's best to have one person in charge of handling this task on your wedding day; traditionally it's your best man or wedding planner. The tips should be in cash and in sealed envelopes labeled with the appropriate vendor names. This will make it easier for whoever is responsible for handing them out the day-of.

Ten Tips for Creating a Fabulous Wedding

1. It’s all in the Details.
From hand-beaded double linens, imported napkins and hand-made cake toppers, make every detail count. Unique and customized details serve for a memorable, fabulous wedding day.
2. Draping & Lighting.
By splurging on draping and lighting you can transform any room into a soft, exquisite wonderland. Combine white fabric with LED’s, hanging trusses and pinspotting on every table to create a truly magical ambience.
3. Create a Lounge Area.
Create a chic area for guests to sit-back and relax. Rent modern couches, loveseats and tables that are functional yet trendy.
4. Bling it.
Besides your ring, there are other items you can make sparkle. Add more bling to your dress in the form of crystal rosettes, choose a veil with crystal edging or add sparkle to your bouquets and centerpieces.
5. Give Thanks.
To truly show your appreciation to your wedding party, treat the entire group to a day at the spa before the wedding. They will be grateful for the pampering and relaxation before you throw them into the spotlight.
6. Arrive in Style.
If your wedding theme is modern/contemporary, skip the limousine and look into renting an exotic sports car. Arrive to your reception in a Lamborghini, Ferrari or GT-40. Your guests (well, the guys at least) will be drooling.
7. Have a Party Before the Party.
If having a moment with just your close friends and family is important to you, arrange for a quick, private cocktail party before your reception.
8. Surprise your Guests.
Provide your guests with unexpected entertainment. Hire belly dancers, Latin dancers or even a classy comedian to give a quick roast at the reception.
9. Have a Miniature Pastry Bar.
In addition to your wedding cake, wow your guests with different pastries or live action dessert stations.
10. Put the Bar on Ice.
Thinking of having an ice sculpture at the wedding? Expand on that thought and consider having an ice bar. Yes, it’s entire bar made of ice and with the proper lighting, it can be gorgeous.

Ten Ways to Save BIG on Your Wedding!

1. DIY Projects
Do-it-yourself projects can save you a lot of money but can cost you a lot of time. Making your own favors, invites, place cards, etc. can all be worth if but only if you have the time and energy to spend.

2. Long Engagements
The more time you have to plan your wedding, the more you can shop around and increase your savings.

3. Ask for More
In this economy, vendors are very competitive in their pricing and there’s always room for negotiation. If you’re splurging on one area of the wedding, ask that vendor to throw something in; whether it’s a free ceremony piece from your florist or an extra half hour of your DJ’s time. It never hurts to ask.

4. Make the Cut
Trimming down your guest list can save you thousands. A good place to start is with anyone you don’t know: your parent’s coworkers, extended family you’ve met only once, etc. Cutting down the list can be hard but well worth it.

5. Referral Discounts
Many vendors have established relationships with each other. If you’re considering a certain limousine service for example, be sure to ask if they run any specials involving other vendors. Your may receive $100 off the limo or additional incentives by booking with both preferred vendors.

6. Real Flower Power
Having a bit of knowledge in the floral department can go a long way. Always choose blooms that are in season and stick to two to three varieties if you really want to save. Florists, like all retailers, have to order their products in bulk. By ordering only three types of flowers at large quantities, their cost is less so your cost should be less.

7. Cake Secrets
Save big by having a small cake on display and a few large sheet cakes in the kitchen for serving. Many bakers will provide the sheet cakes for you at a much more reasonable price than additional layers.

8. Flowers X 2
Reuse your floral ceremony pieces at your reception instead of ordering extra arrangements. You can also use your bouquets at the head table instead of additional centerpieces.

9. Shop Trunk Shows
When it’s finally time to shop for your dress be sure to research your local bridal boutiques for designer trunk shows. These shows can offer you dresses that are not typically in stores plus up to 20% off in savings.

10. Off-Season
This is one of the biggest ways to save money. Vendors, planners and even venues will offer you huge discounts if you’re planning your wedding off-season. If you prefer the cold or you’re envisioning a winter wonderland for your big day, you’re on your way to huge savings!
