Thistle is a fun and modern flower that comes in a lot of varieties. It can be used for a textural aspect, but can also give off the natural, wildflower feel in any wedding. This flower is perfect for an outdoor wedding.

Japanese Mums can be considered a more "traditional" flower for Spring weddings, but what is great about them is their availability in bright colors. These mums are a full bodied flower, without being too fluffy.

 

Like Japanese Mums, Celosia comes in radiant colors that serve as a perfect accent to each arrangement. Alone with these bright hues, Celosia has a soft and velvety feel that textually acts more as a feather than a flower.

This flower could possibly be the most popular of the year. Why? Because it comes in this years radiant orchid, the 2014 Pantone Color of the Year. South American Vining Jasmine flower brings an exotic feel to your wedding, and on top of that it's extremely fragrant. Use this flower to feel like you're in paradise on your special day.

Want to change it up a bit? Try Green Trichelium it's the perfect choice for you! Include this in your arrangements to break up all the flowers and give it some texture. This deep emerald green is perfect for any season, but its a hot commodity this Spring!

Why we toss wedding garters...

Ever wonder where the wedding garter tradition came from??  
 

 

The garter tradition originated in France during the 14^th Century.  In Europe, many people believed that receiving a piece of the bride’s clothing meant that they would have good luck.   Because of this, people would often tear off pieces of a bride's wedding dress.  To avoid this, brides began throwing their garters to the guests but it still wasn't enough; guests then started rushing brides at the altar!  Eventually, that tradition also changed; grooms began stepping in and performing the same tradition we have today.  He would remove the garter (protecting his bride) and then toss it to the guests.  Whomever catches the garter is still thought to receive good luck.  And lucky for today's brides, your dresses will stay in tact!!

Gilbody-Loftis Wedding May, 2011 Castle Hill Newport, RI

Andria & Rob were married at Castle Hill Inn in Newport, RI this May, 2011. We had the pleasure of working with this couple from start to finish and what an epic finish it was! From the escort cards, to the table numbers, to the candy station - every detail was personal to the couple and perfect. Andria immediately knew she wanted to incorporate her two favorite colors - fuchsia and turquoise. So we took them and created a fun, elegant, ocean theme that truly made Castle Hill come to life. Katie & Steve - Roger Williams Casino

Katie & Steve were married back in March at Roger Williams Casino. They had a romantic, simple ceremony on the first floor of the casino followed by a fun-filled reception. Each guest was served their very own lobster thanks to B&M Clambakes and George from CE DJ's entertained the crowd.
